Boss Name: Kylikki
Image

Name:Arach
Guild:Outriders
Server:Damballah
Raid Type:24 Player
Dungeon:Kylikki's Crypt (80)

Strategy:

-Once the raid clears to Kylikki's room, she is standing in the middle completely alone. The MT should charge in first (recommended he have decent frost resistance) as Kylikki casts a spell Frost Javelin that hits for roughly 2000 cold damage. Kylikki generally summons 2 wolves approximately 10-15seconds after she is first engaged. It is recommended that a tank or offtank pick up the wolves and tank them just a little away from Kylikki, but close enough to be AoEd down by the raid. The wolves hit for approximately 15-1900 physical damage(when they die they will respawn generally 10-15secs later and must be picked up again).

-Kylikki will then spawn Spellguards (4) around her room (generally moving from center, to left to right). It is recommend the raid have 3 necros with Shatter to take out the Spellguards (which are minions) instantly(be sure they cast Blizzard before using Shatter, else it tends not to work.). Once she spawns the spellguards Kylikki then turns to run to them for healing, if the necromancers are good the minions will be dead before she ever reaches them, thus no healing for her.

-The biggest problem most raids have if it isn't the Spellguards, is the fact that if anyone outside a 5m radius of Kylikki pulls aggro, she casts a room wide AoE that hits for upwards of 18,000 and incurs a raid wipe. It is important that the necros who are on Spellguard duty do minimal DPS until the 2nd wave of minions is dead, so as not to pull aggro and wipe the raid.

Re: Heals or no heals

The spellguards spawn REGARDLESS of where the wolves are in the room, if they're dead, or if they're alive, near or far. Everytime a set of spellguards spawn she is healed for 3% (it was reduced from 6% if i'm not mistaken) and so far as I have seen, requires 3 shatter specced necros to accomplish efficiently (although we have done it with 2 necros a demo and a hox...but it took 14min 37seconds to down her). The way we do it is all of the necros go around the room together, so that way if one is missed by shatter another person can snag it quickly. Hope this helps in your fight against her.

Heals or no heals?

By: Rack316 (Registered ) on 31-07-2008 04:58

Reading the different strats, one doesn't even mention the spellguards cuz supposedly they don't spawn if the wolves are out of the way. So which is it? If the spellguards spawn regardless, are you saying we HAVE to have shatter specc'd necros or it's not doable?

I've tried this boss like 50 times now (counting every single attempt after wipe) and still haven't got it done. We've gotten her down to about 70% then she gets healed full. Should we just get 3 shatter specc'd necros to stand at each section and just wait to Shatter? Won't their shatter not be ready in time for the 2nd wave?

You can kite or you can kill, really up to you. And yes both of our tanks (I'm usually a wolf tank because of lag issues ) have killed wolves with SOLELY reactive damage. And it doesn't take long either. 3 Counterstrikes up, Strike and Guard, Guard Destroyer, Shield Bash, Over-reaach, rinse repeat. I think I killed my wolf just after the 2nd wave went down.

You still fail to mention why killing the wolves is necessary. I'm almost 100% certain you will not be killing a level 80 elite raid mob with just 1 tank's reactive damage.

Kite the wolves, end of story?

Because either your tanks kill them with counterstrike or whatever, or the AoEs do. If the wolves die you just pick them up again, it REALLY isn't that hard.
